I knocked myself out in a pub the other day.
It’s not the first time, and I wasn’t brawling, promise.
Instead, it’s an occupational hazard of living in Oxford as a 6 ft 4” man, who never quite remembers how tall he is.
If you’ve ever been to a watering hole in Oxford city centre, you’ll know that most of them are several hundred years old, with the low ceilings and beams to go with it.
They’re absolutely beautiful, but also completely treacherous for a half-giant like me.
And it was against that backdrop that I stood up to go to the toilet, and instantly saw stars.
The truth is that it’s happened with alarming regularity during our time in Oxford, so much so that we’ve actually found ourselves venturing out of the city more, in search of a little more headroom.
And what we’ve found in the Oxfordshire countryside are myriad other pubs that are just as beautiful, but rather more roomy, and well worth going the extra mile for.
Yes, it’d be easier to have a pint in the pub down the road, but there’s every chance it’ll end in a headache.
And it’s exactly the same in the world of loupes – you could opt for the easier, cheaper option.
But when loupes aren’t spot on, not only do they inhibit you from doing your job probably, they also result in you ending up with a headache, without the second pint to help soothe it.
If you’re in the market for a new set of loupes (or you know that yours aren’t spot on), let’s talk about Designs For Vision loupes today – they really are worth going the extra mile for.
