Somehow, I’ve found myself in the possession of a cat.
It’s not my fault you understand – my daughter’s studies in Scotland have concluded, and she’s made the long descent back down to Oxford with all of her belongings.
As it turns out, those belongings now include a youngfeline.
When we move back down south proper, there’ll be plenty of space, but for now, it’s me, Jaq, my daughter and the charmingly named ‘Egg’ (I know, I know…), in a second-floor apartment.
Not that I’m complaining – we’ve got plenty of room – but I couldn’t help feeling that a complete lack of outdoor space made it a rather unsuitable place for a pet that likes to wander and explore.
Initially though, it seemed I was wrong. The cat seemed happy as Larry within our four walls, pootling around, and scratching at my guitars and Jaq’s paintings.
And then my daughter took her out to the park in one of those new-fangled cat harnesses, and Pandora’s Box was opened.
Now it’s all changed – with an awareness of the great outdoors, and all of the magnificence and splendour it brings, Egg spends most of her time staring out of the window, and wishing she could be out there in the big wide world.
Thankfully, the Sussex beach is calling, and in a few short weeks there’ll be space aplenty at our family home.
Once again though, it’s a parabolic story – what might have satisfied you yesterday can suddenly pale in comparison to a new, better, more colourful experience.
And thar’s precisely what happens with so many of our customers – having used a cheaper set of loupes for a while, they try a Designs For Vision set and then realise what they’ve been missing all this time.
If you’d like to see for yourself why so many dentists’ eyes are opened permanently to the superiority of Designs For Vision, we’d be happy to come and demonstrate for you – hit reply and we’ll organise an appointment.
